Baked Apples with Pecans and Balsamic Syrup

A delicious dessert for cold autumn evenings.

Ingredients

  • Atkins and Potts Balsamic Syrup
  • 4 eating apples
  • 75g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 75g chopped pecans
  • 75g chopped raisins
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 150ml boiling water
  • Ice cream to serve

Instructions

  1. Wash and core each apple.
  2. Mix together the sugar, cinnamon, pecans and raisins. Stuff the cored apples with the pecan mixture and place in an ovenproof dish.
  3. Top each apple with a dot of butter. Place the ovenproof dish into a larger high-sided baking tray and add the boiling water to the tray.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30-40 minutes.
  5. Remove the apples from the oven and glaze each apple with Atkins & Potts Balsamic Syrup.
  6. Serve with a scoop of ice cream.
